About

Le Chat Noir will be an studio with a daily course programme in aerial acrobatics, improv theatre and stand-up comedy.

Inclusive theatre projects will also take place, which will deal with social and personal topics such as identity, conflict, prejudice, physical and mental health. People from different social groups will come together who do not necessarily interact consciously in everyday life, e.g. people with and without refugee or migration background, people with different sexual orientations and gender identities, people with and without disabilities, with and without mental health problems, people from alternative subcultures, people from different generations.

The course fees for our regular evening classes will help to fund the social projects.

Le Chat Noir ist named after the legendary 19th century Parisian cabaret, the epitome of Bohemianism.

Le Chat Noir Berlin's founder, Kay Herm, has over 10 years experience as a performing artist and teacher in acting, dance, acrobatics and stand-up comedy. Kay was born in Berlin but moved to London in 1999, where she completed a Bachelor's Degree in Performing Arts, as well as a Master's Degree in Human Rights. In 2017, Kay moved back to Berlin, and started working on the development of the social enterprise Le Chat Noir.
